How Greenlist works

Approving accounts to use your music without a claim.

Your recordings are fingerprinted so that uploads using them can be identified. Greenlist is how you let a specific account use your music without that automatic claim landing on their video.

When to use it

  • Your own channels — always greenlist these, otherwise you end up claiming yourself.
  • A creator you have licensed the track to.
  • A label or promo partner posting on your behalf.
  • A music video uploaded by a director or channel that is not you.

Making a request

Open a support ticket with the exact channel or account URL and the release it applies to. Approvals are not instant and involve the platform, so allow time before a scheduled upload.

Greenlisting gives up the revenue from that channel's use of your track. That is the trade: no claim, no income from those views.
