Adding artists to your roster
Profiles, genres and platform links.
Every release is credited to an artist on your roster. Adding the artist first means their store profiles, genres and identifiers are reused on every release rather than retyped.
Adding an artist
- Go to Roster and choose New Artist.
- Enter the artist name exactly as it should appear in stores, including capitalisation.
- Pick a primary genre. This influences where stores file the music and which editorial teams see it.
- Add store profile links if the artist already has them — Spotify, Apple Music, and any others.
- Save. The artist is now selectable in the New Release flow.
Existing artists versus new ones
If the artist already has music on streaming services, paste their existing Spotify and Apple Music profile URLs. Deliveries will then land on the profile they already have, keeping their listener counts and followers intact.
Leave the profile links blank for a genuinely new artist. Stores will create a fresh profile on the first delivery. Pasting the wrong artist's URL sends your music to someone else's page, and that is slow to unwind.
Creating an artist mid-release
You do not have to leave the New Release flow. The artist field lets you create a new artist inline, and it is added to your roster at the same time.
