When royalties are reported
Stores report on a delay — usually two to three months.
Streaming royalties are not real time. Every store reports on a delay, and the delay is theirs, not BASSMA's.
The reporting chain
- Your track is streamed.
- The store closes its accounting month.
- The store reports and pays the distributor, typically two to three months after that month ends.
- BASSMA processes the statement and the earnings appear in your Wallet.
So streams from January generally surface around March or April. This is normal across the whole industry.
Analytics versus Sales
Analytics shows stream counts, which arrive far sooner. Sales shows money, which arrives on the schedule above. The two will not agree for the same period, and that is expected — one is a live-ish count, the other is settled accounting.
Never treat Analytics as an earnings forecast. Per-stream rates vary by store, country and subscription tier, so the same stream count can pay very differently month to month.
